Erection of FencesLast modified: August 7, 2008 - 3:37 PM
Draft Erection of Fences Policy In the recent past a number of issues relating to the erection of boundary fences has been raised with Council. In particular, the erection of full-height front fences has been an issue of concern. In other cases, fences have been erected from second-hand galvanised iron, which is often unattractive. Council already has a Building Line Setbacks Policy in place, which is designed to ensure that a consistent minimum distance is maintained between street boundaries and the frontage of each dwelling. The idea is to maintain an open, attractive streetscape. For the same reason, Council may wish to consider a policy on the erection of “front” fences within the towns and villages of the Shire. A draft policy is provided for Council’s consideration. Download document Contact details |
