Vegetation & Noxious Weeds

Last modified: November 17, 2009 - 11:26 PM

Lockhart Shire consists of cropping, grazing, recreational, forest and nature reserve lands. Noxious weed control within all areas of the Shire needs to be coordinated effectively and efficiently. Without such practices, noxious weeds infestations will rapidly increase, resulting in local productivity becoming restricted and local environment being devalued.

Lockhart Shire Council supports an extensive noxious weeds control program, employing a noxious weeds inspector, weed spray operator and contractors to meet seasonal demands.
